Content Creation Lab (CCL)

Global Virtual Internship

The Content Creation Lab (CCL) is a unique virtual internship for global youth ages 12-24.  In CCL, interns work together in multinational teams to design and produce original courses for other youth about important topics (check out our youth-designed courses here.) The topic for the Spring 2025 internship, which runs from January to May, is Neurodivergent Belonging: Leadership and Advocacy.

What is the Content Creation Lab?

 

The Content Creation Lab (CCL) is a program of Global Nomads Group. At CCL, we believe young people know best how to make education more engaging, meaningful, and impactful for their global peers.

CCL interns create original learning experiences by youth, for youth. We believe young people know best how to make education more engaging, meaningful, and impactful for their global peers.

Every year, CCL interns ages 12-24 work together on virtual teams to design courses on important topics ranging from climate change to mental health. These courses reach over 10,000 youth in over 65 countries per year!

What will you do in this internship?

 

  • Explore individual, community, and global experiences of neurodivergence and neurodiversity
  • Join weekly online meetings on Saturdays between January 11 and May 10, 2025
  • Work on a diverse team of youth ages 12-24 from around the world
  • Get professional training and experience in online curriculum design, inclusive leadership, and other job skills
  • Design a free online course about Neurodivergent Belonging, reaching thousands of people globally
  • Receive a stipend and certificate for your participation in the program

What do the words “neurodivergence” and “neurodiversity” mean?

  • Neurodivergence is a term that describes people whose brains work in a different way than what is considered typical by society (or “neurotypical”). Neurodivergent individuals might experience differences in mental function, learning styles, sensory processing, or communication. Common conditions experienced by people who are neurodivergent include being on the autism spectrum, having ADHD, having apraxia (difficulty with speech), dyscalculia (difficulty with math), dyslexia (difficulty with reading), dysgraphia (difficulty with writing), or difficulties regulating emotions or processing certain kinds of information.

  • Neurodiversity refers to the fact that everyone’s brain works differently, and each person has their own unique combination of needs and abilities. Embracing neurodiversity recognizes that there is no one “right” way to think or interact with the world– and that our differences can make us more creative, innovative, and inclusive.

Who is eligible to apply to this internship?

You are eligible to apply if you:

  • Are between the ages of 12 and 24 
  • Have at least conversational proficiency in English
  • Are available for weekly internship meetings on Saturdays from 10 am – 12 pm Eastern Time (ET) for the duration of the program (January to May 2025). Please make sure to convert this time to your local time zone here! Occasional absences are permissible.
  • You do not need prior experience or knowledge about course design or the course topic to participate.

  • Submit an online application by December 2, 2024. 
  • Complete the online Overcoming Bias course (created by youth!) by December 2, 2024. For an all-video version of the course with closed captions and ASL interpretation, visit this link.
