FAQs

What age group are your programs designed for?

Student to World, videos, webinars and online story shares are designed for youth 13-18 years old. Seat at the table is designed for 16-19 year olds.

What is the cost to participate in your programs?

Due to the generosity of our funding partners, we are providing our offerings free of charge to teens who register in September and October.

How long does it take to engage with your offerings?

Our offerings range from 1-hour activities (e.g., videos and discussions, webinars, story shares) to 12 to 18 hours of engagement (e.g., Student to World).

Is the online platform safe and secure to use?

We create customized courses using the Canvas LMS, which is FERPA certified. All courses are private, for our participants only. Youth data is retained only for the active participating year. In Student to World, teens may select to explore resources that redirect them to carefully curated content outside of our platform (e.g., You Tube).

What part of the world are students connecting from?

Global: Jordan, Tunisia, Morocco, and Nigeria-just to name a few!

U.S. : Texas, California, New York, Kentucky, Connecticut and more!

How will youth participation in your programs be “graded?”

We do not grade participant work contributed in our programs; however, in Student to World, we do provide rubrics that parents can use to assess their children’s work.

How can I monitor my child’s progress in your Student to World programs?

When you register your child in a Student to World program, you will also receive a parent login which will allow you to monitor your child’s progress in the program.

How do I give my child high school credit using your offerings?

Four Student to World program themes (courses) combined can be used as a 1/2 credit of a Global Studies Course for High School.

If the Exploration Activities are used along with the Student to World programs, each can be used as an assessment for a Global Studies 1/2 credit course for a High School transcript.

If the Exploration Activities are used as stand alone experiences, each can be listed as volunteering experiences on a High School transcript.

Can your Student to World program be accessed via mobile device, laptop and tablet?

Yes. If accessing the program via mobile device, you should download the Canvas Student app and login to our program using the login information we provide you upon registration.
