Jessica is excited to join GNG as their Curriculum Manager, a position which combines her passions for intercultural understanding, curricular innovation, and bringing people together.
Jessica’s over 20 years of experience in education began as an elementary teacher in Southern California. Since 2001, she has been working in local and international settings connecting with diverse communities and developing curricular and professional development materials in print and web-based formats. As an educational consultant, she worked for Harcourt School Publishers, Co-nect, Pearson, and various school districts. Most recently she served as the Program Coordinator for The Conversation Tree at Rutgers University, a community-based program which brings together adult language learners and trained conversation facilitators in intercultural dialogue in Conversation Cafés in English, Spanish and Mandarin.
Jessica grew up on her family’s farm in Southeast Arizona picking vegetables, hoeing weeds, interacting with customers, and occasionally driving tractor. She credits these childhood experiences with her deep love and appreciation for people, outdoor adventures, and building and/or creating things from scratch. She loves to garden, cook, knit, make ceramics, and spend time long-distance hiking with her partner.
