GNG
Partners with the Tony Blair Faith Foundation!
If young people are to cope with - and contribute to - an increasingly
complex and global society, they will need to better understand
those from different cultures and faiths. GNG has partnered with
the Tony Blair Faith Foundation to provide "Face to Faith"- a
new videoconference series where students from different faiths
around the world will come together in weekly videoconferences
to talk face-to-face about religion and the role it plays in their
lives. This program is designed to improve religious literacy
and nurture a new generation who are champions of religious tolerance
and peace.
During the course of the semester, students will educate one another
about the beliefs and practices of the six major religions: Christianity,
Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism, Islam, and Sikhism. In addition,
students will discuss the commonalities as well as the differences
between the major faiths. More

Fight
HIV/AIDS - One Dribble at a Time!
Please join GNG, Ethan
Zohn, co-founder of Grassroot Soccer (and winner of "Survivor:
Africa" in 2001) and students from Nairobi High School in
a compelling conversation in real time about how we can raise
awareness about HIV/AIDS in order to tackle the pandemic together!
Zohn is currently on a "Dribble 2008" 550-mile
trek, dribbling a soccer ball from Boston all the way to Washington
DC. In honor of World AIDS Day on December 1st, he hopes to bring
the urgency of the AIDS crisis home to North American youth so
that the next generation may become HIV-negative.

Explore
Antarctica's Past — And Our Future!
Today, the climate is changing faster than any time of the last
65 million years. Warmer ocean temperatures are feeding more powerful
hurricanes, while mega heat waves and droughts are occurring in
record numbers.
In partnership with The
Offshore New Harbor Project (which is part of the Antarctic
Geological Drilling Program), GNG will host a series of Virtual
Classrooms from Antarctica from October - December to study evidence
in Antarctica from the last time carbon dioxide levels were this
high — 34 million years ago! By examining our world's past,
we hope to get a glimpse of our future — as global warming
has become an inevitable reality. Click
